Morara Kebaso calls for youth unity amid biting economy, joblessness
By Joel Masibo, October 25, 2025Political activist Morara Kebaso has called upon the Kenyan youth to unite and shun divisive narratives amid the biting economic times.
Taking to his social media pages on Saturday morning, October 25, 2025, Kebaso argued that the current situation, apparently contributed to by the surging numbers of unemployment among the younger generation, demands togetherness.
”Fellow youth, as you can see, your situation is not improving. If you were jobless last week, you are most likely still jobless this week. If you couldn’t raise capital to start a business last week, you haven’t started any this week. If the cost of starting a family was high last week, it is higher this week. For how long do you plan to troll each other?” Kebaso posed.
More often, Kebaso has lately been on the receiving end of trolls, with social media users having contrary opinions regarding his approach to initiating change in the country’s leadership. He has, however, challenged the youth to support one another and grow in unison.

Call for unity
”How long do you plan to keep weakening each other and strengthening the enemy? How long do you plan on delegitimising each other in front of this regime? When do you plan to start building each other? How do you plan to take leadership without leaders? How do you plan to govern without structures? Do you have the integrity that you seek in politicians? If a youth succeeds, you say he is a thief,” he said.
”If a lady gets promoted at work, you say she is sleeping with her boss. Truly, aren’t there people who succeed out of hard work, creativity and luck? Why are you delegitimising success and legitimising poverty? What is the future of our generation? Do we even care?” Kebaso asked.

Weighing in on the country’s leadership, Morara Kebaso has criticised tribal politics, arguing that it continues to undermine Kenya’s democracy and economic progress. Kebaso further notes that while tribal loyalty could be positive if it meant supporting leaders of integrity, competence, and vision within one’s community, the reality has been the opposite.
Meanwhile, heading into the 2027 general election, the country’s youth are urged to register as voters in their numbers, as their voting pattern will decide the future of Kenya in the next general polls.
