MCA Patricia Mutheu discharged from hospital

By , July 30, 2020

Nairobi’s Mlango Kubwa Member of County Assembly Patricia Mutheu has been cleared to be discharged from Nairobi Women’s Hospital.

The MCA revealed on Thursday morning that the doctors had cleared her and she would be discharged later in the day.

Ms. Mutheu was assaulted by police officers on Tuesday within the precincts of the Nairobi County Assembly leading to her hospitalisation.

Speaking from her hospital bed on Thursday, she said despite the physical injuries, she was struggling with the trauma that ensued when four armed male police officers cornered and clobbered her.

“Apart from the physical harm, what actually I am now struggling with is the psychological issues,” she said.

During the assault that has since attracted a lot of public attention she said the police did not give her a room for dialogue but went ahead to hit her with sticks.
