MCA charged with assault, damage to property

A Member of Trans Nzoia County Assembly (MCA) was on Monday  arraigned in a Kitale court for allegedly causing malicious damage to property and causing bodily harm to a woman believed to be his father’s friend.

Appearing before Kitale Chief Magistrate Julius Ngarngar, Jubilee nominated ward representative  Joseph Trikoi Kapchanga and nine others not before court  was charged with malicious damage to property and assault.

Trikoi  was charged that on July 18 this year at Chorlim  area in Endebes sub county jointly with others not before court willfully and unlawfully destroyed property belonging to Josephine Chepkwarat.

He faced a second count of assault and causing bodily harm  by beating up his father’s woman friend and her 23-year-old son who were both treated and offered P3 forms.

He denied the charges and was released on bond of Sh40,000  or cash bail of Sh20,000.
