Mbai appointed rugby director of growth and development

Kenya Rugby League Federation (KRLF) has confirmed the appointment of vastly experienced rugby guru John Mbai as the federation’s director in charge of  growth and development.

A press statement sent to newsrooms yesterday  said Mbai’s appointment takes immediate effects as he kicks off the federation’s expansive growth strategies and plans that includes building and growing their infrastructure as well as manage and retain relationships with KRLF’s existing partners and stakeholders.

The former Kenya international as well as Mwamba, Strathmore Leos, Mean Machine, Technical university of Kenya (TUK) RFC coach landed the job courtesy of his expertise as a building contractor and Interior Architect professional, with vast experience in project management, concept development, business process analysis, brand strategy and growth and retention.

His former player and current Kisii RFC head coach Eric Bosire tipped Mbai to do justice to the position he’s been appointed at KRLF.

“Mbai is a great rugby person. He was my coach at Mwamba RFC and I know his experience as a player and coach will have a great impact in KRLF’S infrastrure development and plans,” Bosire told People Sports.

Speaking about his appointment, Mbai who’s a world rugby Level 3 trained coach and former Shujaa team manager, expressed his optimism in his new job, promising to use his expertise in the area of growth and development to establish a longlasting process that will meet KRLF’s objectives.

“Growth and development in general is something that I have a great passion for especially in an era where it is misunderstood, because we are living in a time where people want instant results and have little appreciation for the process of time.

It’s an honour and privilege to get the opportunity to be part of the this exciting Journey of building something new that has great potential and working with colleagues with rich rugby pedigree,’ ’said Mbai.
