A man has been charged at a Nairobi court with conspiracy to obtain a Sh1.6 billion piece of land fraudulently.

Francis Muhuru Ndinguri faced three counts of conspiracy to defraud, obtaining registration by false pretenses and forgery.

He was charged that on diverse dates between January 4 and September 15, 2023, within Nairobi county together with others not before court, jointly conspired with intent to defraud Messer’s Langton Investment Ltd a parcel of land worth Sh1,619,700,000.

The land Reference No. 28401 IR No. 152720 measuring approximately 21.85 hectares is located along Northern bypass road in Nairobi county and is valued at Sh1.6 billion.

In the second charge, the court heard that Muhuru on or before February 24 2023, at an unknown place within the republic of Kenya, with intent to defraud forged a certificate of registration CR12 purporting it to be a genuine certificate of registration of Messer’s Langton Investment Ltd.

He was charged with obtaining registration by false pretenses contrary to section 32 of the penal code.

The prosecution told the court that on diverse dates between January 4 and September 15, 2023, at the Ministry of Lands, Muhuru procured for himself registration of a provisional certificate of a title for land with reference No. 28401 IR No. 152720 by falsely pretending that he was the director of Messer’s Langton Investment Ltd.
