According to hospital management, Ouma died in the theatre while being prepared for an operation.
Scores also suffered gunshot injuries in the region and are admitted at various hospitals.

Odhiambo was allegedly shot in his lower abdomen in a car wash near Kondele.
Also recuperating at the hospital is Peter Ayub, 24, who was shot in the left arm in Kisumu’s Manyatta informal settlement.

In Homa Bay County, six people were hospitalised after they sustained gunshot wounds during the demonstrations.
The victims, four men and two women, are suspected to have been injured in different parts of Homa Bay town before they were rushed to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital for medication.
The hospital Chief Executive Officer Peter Ogola said an X-ray examination conducted indicated that the two men had objects lodged into their bodies while the other four had injuries in their legs. Ogola said they could not ascertain whether the objects were bullets or not.
“The hospital received six people with injuries afflicted on them. Two men have foreign objects lodged in their bodies,” he said.
