Magufuli fires deputy health minister

Tanzania President John Pombe Magufuli has fired the deputy Minister of Health Faustine Ndugulile for ‘not cooperating’ in managing the coronavirus pandemic.
In the place, Mr. Magufuli appointed Godwin Mollel who is also a parliamentarian for Siha constituency.
Magufuli’s radical changes in the ministry come against a backdrop of Tanzania’s accusations of ‘dancing’ with the coronavirus pandemic.
Tanzania has been reluctant to release Covid-19 data in the country, where the last statistics were release on April, 29.

This week, the US advised its citizens in Tanzania to take extreme caution and stay at home as much as possible to avoid infections.
The US termed as ‘extremely high’, the risk of contacting Covid-19 in Tanzania.
The US also added that hospitals in Tanzania have been overwhelmed by the coronavirus crisis in the country.
