Former Leopards, Shabana Coach Selebwa takes new role at Luanda Villa

Luanda Villa SC have announced the appointment of former AFC Leopards and Shabana coach Gilbert Selebwa as their new Head Coach.
The club said they settled on Selebwa in order to align with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) regulations.

“We are delighted to announce a significant development in the leadership of Luanda Villa SC, which is aligned with the regulations set forth by the Confederation of African Football (CAF),” a statement by Luanda Villa read.
Luanda Villa have high hopes in Selebwa and believe he will lead the club to greater heights, going by his previous record in management.
“After a thorough search and evaluation, we have appointed Mr. Gilbert Selebwa, the former head coach of AFC Leopards, as our new club manager. Mr. Selebwa brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in football management, and we are confident that his expertise will propel Luanda Villa SC to new heights,” the statement continued.
The adjustment will now see Tom Tera, who is set to undertake his CAF B coaching sessions take up the assistant role.
“In addition, Mr. Tom Tera, our former manager, will now assume the role of assistant manager. This transition allows Mr. Tera to undertake his CAF B training while continuing to contribute to the team’s success. We are grateful for his dedication and commitment to the club, and we are excited about his future growth and contributions,” the club confirmed.
The club also announced the appointment of Francis Oduor as the fitness trainer, banking on his extensive know how in the field to enhance Villa players’ performance.
“We are also pleased to welcome Mr. Francis ‘Killer’ Odour to our coaching staff as the team’s trainer. Mr. Odour’s extensive knowledge and experience in player development and fitness will be invaluable in enhancing our team’s performance on the field.

“We believe that these strategic appointments and adjustments will strengthen our coaching team and support our players in achieving their full potential. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of excellence and professionalism in all aspects of our club’s operations,” the club stated.

Selebwa takes over Luanda Villa SC, who are currently out of the promotion bracket, having managed just 10 wins, 13 draws, and nine losses this season.
Villa sit 11th on the National Super League log and a home duel against Mully Children’s Family on Sunday, 26 May will likely see Selebwa take charge of his maiden game at the club.
