Leopards claw Chemelil, Wazito off to winning ways

By , September 30, 2019

AFC Leopards recorded the biggest win of the weekend in the fourth round of the 2019/20 Kenyan Premier League season following a 4-0 demolition of Chemelil Sugar at Mumias Complex yesterday.

Soter Kayumba opened the floodgates for Leopards before John Makwata grabbed a brace, making it three goals in two games, to add to Tresor Ndikumana’s finish.

Defeat leaves pointless Chemelil at the bottom of the 18-table while Ingwe surge to second on seven points from four games.

In Kericho, big-spending Wazito FC finally got their first win of the season after a 2-0 victory over hosts Zoo FC.

Victor Ndinya gave Wazito a 47th-minute lead before Elvis Rupia wrapped up scoring in the 89th minute to ease pressure on the club’s technical bench after two draws and a defeat in the opening three games.

The loss also piled more misery on Zoo who have only won one game since the start of the campaign.

In Machakos, KCB beat Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1 to join the bandwagon of teams on seven points.

Allan Wanga’s fourth-minute goal for Homeboyz was cancelled out in the 11th minute by KCB’s Dennis Odhiambo before Kennedy Owino scored what turned out to be the winner in the 34th minute.
