Kwanza MP erects an lightning arrestor at Goseta Boys Secondary school
Following frequent incidences of lightning in Goseta area Kwanza constituency, area Member of Parliament MP Mr Ferdinand Wanyonyi has initiated an arrester centre in the affected area to cost that will cost Sh2 million.
The killing of two students of Goseta Boys Secondary by lightning last December was the lasted incident.
The project has been erected at Goseta Boys secondary school and will cover a radius of 1.5 km.
Speaking when he commissioned the project, Wanyonyi said the area has for many years experienced lightening and left people death.
‘’We allocated some money from Constituency Development Fund to put up the project to tame the frequent problem of lightning,” the MP said.
The contractor Martin Barasa said the arrester that has a height of 30 meter will also link the school with WiFi.
The school community led by the principal Joseph Okiru lauded the project.
