Kuria flies in on Saturday from Dubai medical trip
Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria will this weekend return to the country after undergoing treatment abroad.
Kuria is expected to revamp his Chama Cha Kazi party ahead of the August polls. He has been in Dubai for more than three months after injuring his legs.
He flies back on Saturday, February 19. A thanksgiving ceremony will be conducted in Thika in his honour the same day he is bound to get back into the country.
Organisers indicated that political foes in Deputy President William Ruto, ODM chief Raila Odinga and the One Kenya Alliance principals have been invited to the event.
Fielding candidates
His supporters and political pundits believe the legislator will use the event to declare whether he will be contesting for a political seat, despite having earlier indicated that he may not.
Kuria has indicated that CCK will be fielding candidates in all positions, except the presidency, and he is confident to bag several seats, particularly in the Central Kenya region where he commands a significant following.
“We are out to give the youth a say in the management of the country’s resources and that is why CCK has embraced young people including women,” Kuria said.
His allies and supporters argue that Kuria will be going for the Kiambu Governor’s seat, a move that is expected to rattle feathers and change the political arithmetic.
