Kobia advises graduates not to rely on scarce white-collar jobs

Gender and Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Margaret Kobia has advised university graduates not to rely on the scarce white-collar jobs but be innovative.

She urged them to embrace creativity learnt in schools in order to be self-employed, thereby solving the unemployment crisis.

“We live in an innovative age where higher education training must be pegged on innovative approaches geared towards solving societal problems,” she said.

Kobia spoke at St Paul’s University amphitheatre during the institution’s 30th graduation ceremony which was conducted virtually.

Kobia noted that the students, having passed through hard times during Covid, are well equipped to use technology creatively.
