KNCCI seeks strong business linkages with global markets at Ticad

The Kenya business community is seeking high market integration with global partners to facilitate access to the international market and transfer of technology through e-commerce.
During the Kenya-Japan business forum, held as part of the just-concluded Tokyo International Conference on African Development (Ticad VII) in Japan, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kncci) president Richard Ngatia urged for deepened strategic industrial diversification, investment programmes and enhanced productivity through public-private sector initiatives (PPP).
“We invite Japanese companies and investors in key industries and export programmes through the development of industrial parks, establish Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in healthcare, manufacturing, textiles and leather and automobile assembling initiatives,” said Ngatia.
Bilateral deliberations
Uganda President Yoweri Museveni commended Kncci for taking lead in promoting business linkages beyond the African continent.
Kenya was the leading African country with the highest private sector delegation of 87 under Kncci.
President Uhuru Kenyatta led the Kenyan delegation. He participated in high level bilateral and multilateral deliberations with Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and other African heads of state.
Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma said the conference was a big success particularly on the Big Four delivery pillars of President Kenyatta’s administration.
