The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) is mourning the passing of Dr Vincent Nyagucha, an ophthalmologist and respected member of the medical fraternity, describing him as a dedicated clinician who served with quiet excellence and unwavering professionalism.
In a condolence statement shared on its X account on Monday, June 8, 2026, and signed by KMPDU general secretary Davji Attellah, the union expressed deep sorrow over his death, noting that the medical profession has lost one of its own.

Dr Nyagucha, who served patients with commitment and compassion, was recognised for his work in restoring sight and improving the quality of life for those under his care. According to KMPDU, he went beyond clinical duty, offering genuine care and humanity to his patients.
“He will be remembered as a clinician of integrity, a man of humility, and a colleague who contributed meaningfully to the medical profession,” the statement read.
The union further described him as not only a dedicated medical professional but also a loving son, devoted father, and cherished friend whose presence extended beyond the hospital walls.
A life of service and compassion
KMPDU said Dr Nyagucha’s legacy will be defined by his commitment to patient care, professionalism, and humility in service. His work in ophthalmology, the union noted, touched countless lives and restored hope to many patients who relied on his expertise.
The union extended heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all who were touched by his life and work, saying it stands in solidarity with them during this period of grief.
“Rest in peace, Dr Vincent Nyagucha,” the statement concluded.
