Kisii RFC are celebrating their 10th anniversary this week after what has been a roller coaster ride since their establishment on December 29, 2009.

To mark this milestone, the club has organised a grand event to be held at Kisii Sports Club on Sunday to celebrate what they are calling 10 years of culture built on love, trust, acceptance and brotherhood.”

The club has seen both good and bad times since its formation, the highlight being their promotion to the top tier Kenya Cup in the 2017/18 campaign and the lowest being their immediate relegation to the second tier KRU Championship the following season.

The relegation came with a heavy price as they lost their sponsor, Resolution Insurance Company and with no finances, the team has struggled ever since, only managing two wins from nine this season that has left them at the bottom of the table and in danger of a second relegation in as many years.

“Kisii rugby is in a tough situation financially with no sponsor. We need finances to help steer this great team to the heights it deserves.

This is achieved through participating and winning our games. We are calling on well-wishers to help by donating funds to facilitate the boys,” said a statement from the club while inviting fans for the anniversary celebrations.
