Kimani Ichung’wah expresses gratitude for love and support after loss of his father
By Kiprono Keileb, September 12, 2025Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah has spoken after the passing of his father, Isaac Ichung’wa Ngugi, describing the love and comfort from friends and colleagues as a source of strength to his family during this painful moment.
The Majority Leader in the National Assembly lost his father on September 4, 2025, a man he described as the pillar of his family.
Since then, leaders, friends, and members of the public have continued to visit and stand with him at his home, offering their condolences and prayers.
A message of gratitude
Ichung’wah used his official Facebook page on Thursday, September 11, 2025, to thank those who have reached out and visited his family. In his message, he emphasised how much the outpouring of kindness had meant to them in their time of grief.
“We remain deeply grateful to our friends and colleagues for standing with us and condoling with our family during this time,” Ichung’wah wrote.

The lawmaker added that the support had not only been overwhelming but had also reminded his family of the strength that comes from community and friendship.
“We remain deeply grateful for the continued outpouring of support to our family during this time,” he added.

Comfort in unity
Ichung’wah went on to express how the visits and messages of encouragement had touched him personally, as well as the rest of his family, during what he described as one of the hardest moments of their lives.
“Extremely grateful for the love and support from friends and colleagues during this difficult time,” he said.

His words painted a picture of a family that, despite mourning the loss of a father, is finding solace in the compassion shown by others.
The acknowledgement of kindness from leaders across the political divide, colleagues in Parliament, and members of the public showed that in times of grief, unity and empathy still stand above politics.
As the family prepares to lay their patriarch to rest, Ichung’wah’s message of gratitude highlights the strength of solidarity in easing pain.
It also serves as a reminder that in moments of loss, the comfort of friends and the warmth of shared humanity can light even the darkest path.
