Kibor’s family buries hatchet as contents of Will are revealed

The late prominent Uasin Gishu farmer Jackson Kibor wanted all his children to inherit a fair share of his property, his Will indicates.

In Kibor’s Will, which has been seen by People Daily, the deceased, who died in March, wanted each of his 15 sons to inherit 200 acres while 11 daughters to get 100 each.

A row erupted last week when Kibor’s youngest wife Eunita Kibor claimed there were attempts to deny her the rightful share of the inheritance.

She claimed one of Kibor’s sons had threatened to evict her from her home.

“All I’m crying for is justice for my children, “ she said.

But in a show of unity on Friday, the family converged in Eldoret where Kibor’s Will was read by lawyer Wilson Kalya.  Four windows and 23 children attended the meeting.

Kibor’s eldest son, Philip, said any other matters arising as far as their father’s wealth was concerned would be handled within the next six months.

“You will never hear of any complaints as far as my father’s property is concerned. We now have a chance to sit as a family and agree amicably on any other issues arising out of the Will,” he said.

The Will states that property, including land and movable assets, would be shared equally among Kibor’s wives and children.
