Kenya Power lists parts of 2 counties set to experience blackout on July 27
Kenya Power, on Saturday, July 26, 2025, issued a notice indicating areas set to experience a power outage on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
In the notice, the electricity transmitting company informed users that the outage would affect the Western region.
Parts of Kisumu County and Siaya were listed in the notice with Kenya Power, indicating that the outage is meant to facilitate the routine maintenance of the transmission infrastructure.
Part of Kisumu County
In the notice, the utility firm informed electricity users within Kisumu County that there would be no power for over eight hours, starting from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The specific areas set to be affected include Mega City Kachok, Nyalenda Railways, Total Petrol, CFAO Kachok, Nyamasaria, Rabuor, Jumbo Matress and West Kano Irrigation Scheme.
Others are Kadiju, Ahero, Makasembo Estate, Kaloleni Estate, Polyview, Prinias Hotel, Manyatta Estate and adjacent customers.

Parts of Siaya County
According to Kenya Power, the Uhanya area will be affected by the power outage for over eight hours.
In the notice, residents will be without electricity supply from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
The specific areas include Majengo, Kinda, Umala, Usigu, Uharia beach, Wambasa Sec, Uhanya, Kanyibok, Uhanya and adjacent customers.
The outage is expected to affect various services which depend on electricity to operate in the two counties.
Nonetheless, the utility firm apologised to the residents for the inconvenience expected to be caused by the planned maintenance of the electricity infrastructure in the area.
Kenya Power conducts routine maintenance to ensure a reliable electricity supply, enhance efficiency, and prevent potential power disruptions.
This involves tasks like inspecting and repairing power lines, transformers, and substations, as well as upgrading the pre-paid system.
By proactively addressing potential issues, they aim to minimise unexpected outages and improve overall service delivery.
