Kenya Power lists areas to experience blackout on Wednesday, March 25
By Kenneth Mwenda, March 24, 2026Kenya Power has announced that several areas across the country will experience planned power outages on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The company said the interruptions are part of scheduled network maintenance aimed at improving electricity reliability.
“Good evening. The listed area will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (25th March 2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance. To access the latest schedule, check under the most recent date,” Kenya Power wrote in a post on its official social media account.
The power outages will affect parts of Nairobi, Machakos, Kajiado, Uasin Gishu, Kisii, Nyamira, Homabay, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Kiambu, and Kilifi counties. In Nairobi, areas including Ruaka Road, Mae Properties, UN Crescent, UN Avenue, Daisy Road, Magnolia Estate, Whispers Avenue, Ruaka Drive, Eaton Place, and neighbouring locations will be without electricity from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In Machakos County, residents of Athi River, including Athi River Sokoni, Fanak Limited, Saj Ceramics, Oriental Godowns, and Kwa Mangeli, are expected to experience similar interruptions between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Other parts
Parts of Kajiado County, including Olekasasi, Nazarene University, Tuala, Masai Road, Sigma Feeds in Tuala Emakoko, Ngurunga, Kedienye, Lebon School, Camp David, and Kitengela Glass, will also be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In the North Rift region, power outages will affect Cheptiret, Kapkoi, Kerita, Kapkoiga, Bayete, Tarakwa, Koluoget, Burnt Forest, Kondoo, Cherus, Kapilat, Kaptingia, Ndanai, and nearby customers in Uasin Gishu County between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
South Nyanza residents in Kisii County should prepare for power cuts in Nyangweta, Etago, Ekona, Kenyenya Primary, Nyakeyo, Suguta, Moticho, Nyabera, Nyamaiya, Mogenda, Maroo, Ochodororo, and surrounding areas. Nyamira County areas including Ikonge, Ekerenyo, and Obwari, as well as Homabay County’s Nyakongo, Alara, and Pala, will also be affected. The outages in these regions are scheduled from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In Central Kenya, parts of Kirinyaga County, including Kiamaina, Gathuthuma, Mukonyo Village, Gatehia, and nearby locations, will experience interruptions. In Nyeri County, Miiri, Kiangai, Kianyange Village, Bore Kero, Thunguri Village, and surrounding areas will be without power during the same hours. Kagumo High School, Kirichu Market, Ndurutu, and Gachika High School in Kirichu are also included.
Residents of Kiambu County, specifically Membley and Wataala, will face outages from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The Coast region will see disruptions in Kilifi County, including Kokotoni, Simakeni, Jimba, China Quarry, Boyani, Ngapeni, Kydee Quarry, Somali Village, and SS Meta.
