Front trio of Kenya Police, Fortune Sacco and FC Talanta earned easy wins in round seven of the Betika National Super League yesterday with Police earning a second straight walkover of the season.

The law enforcers who lead the standings now move to 18 points without kicking a ball inside 180 minutes following the absence of their would-be challengers Mt Kenya United who are 17th on the log with a miserly four points off seven matches.

Elsewhere, 10-man FC Talanta thrashed visiting Kisumu All-stars 3-1 in an entertaining match held at Ruaraka Grounds. Barack Odhiambo had a brace in the match.

The win cements their place at third in the standings just slightly behind Fortune Sacco who beat newcomers Silbwet Leons under new coach Elvis Mafuta 3-0 at Kianyaga Stadium.

Fortune have 17 points, one ahead of Talanta who have 16 points. At Moi Stadium, hosts Kisumu Hot Stars silenced visiting Migori United 1-0 while fast-improving Shabana FC have jumped four places to fifth after a 3-1 thrashing of last placed Murang’a Seal at Gusii Stadium.

Meanwhile in Saturday’s duels, lowly Soy United got their first win of the campaign after stunning sixth-placed Kibera Black Stars 2-0 at Bukhungu Stadiumy.

Currently the North Rift side are now on 10 points as they steadily move out of the relegation bracket.
