Kenya confirms 212 new COVID-19 cases, 4 deaths

Kenya has recorded 212 new cases of coronavirus after 3, 937 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, Health CAS Rashid Aman announced on Thursday.

This pushes the country’s total totally to 34,705.

Of the new cases, 198 are Kenyans and 14 are foreigners.

Nairobi continues to lead in the daily positivity rate, recording 96 cases in the last 24 hours.

Other counties with new cases include: Mombasa (21), Kiambu (11), Busia (10), Uasin Gishu (9), Laikipia (9), Taita Taveta (8), Narok (8), Machakos (7), Nakuru (7), Kilifi (6), Lamu (6), Kajiado (4), Bomet (2) while Bungoma, Kericho, Kwale, Migori, Murang’a, Nyeri, West Pokot and Meru had (1) case each.

Another 195 patients were discharged, bringing  the total number of recoveries in the country so far to 20,644.

A total of 141 of those discharged were from the home-based care, while 54 were discharged from various hospitals.

The number of fatalities rose to 585 after another four patients succumbed to the virus.
