The Murang'a County Government has announced the temporary shutting down of the Kenneth Matiba Eye and Dental Hospital as it relocates to a new location.

The hospital is being relocated from Kenol Town to a newly constructed facility in the Makenji area.

The transition is set to enhance healthcare services in the region, though it will necessitate a temporary closure of the hospital.

"Please be informed that Kenneth Matiba Eye and Dental Hospital will relocate from the current rented premises to a new facility built at the Makenji area," a notice of relocation shared by Murang'a governor Irungu Kang'ata on Saturday, June 22, 2024, reads.

The hospital will be closed for 14 days, from June 24, 2024, to July 7, 2024, to facilitate the move.

During this period, residents are advised to seek medical care at Maragua Level 4 Hospital and Murang'a Level 5 Hospital, both of which are prepared to handle the influx of patients.

The relocation aims to provide upgraded facilities and improve the overall patient experience.

The new hospital in Makenji promises to offer state-of-the-art eye and dental care, continuing the legacy of quality healthcare associated with the Kenneth Matiba name.
