Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) Board will henceforth hold its meetings virtually in a move aimed to streamline board operations and track projects implementation.
The board’s adoption of Convene an Electronic Board Management Systems is touted to improve efficiency and productivity.
Instead of shuffling among themselves with familiar bulky hardcopy board papers, the directors will just click a button on their gadgets, gain access to a centralised information hub, making it possible to convene virtual and physical meetings to deliberate on urgent matters and make informed decisions.
The purpose-built Convene e-board software will facilitate automation of all board processes including scheduling, sharing of board papers, conducting, and managing meetings as well as minutes and communication in a more secure and efficient manner.
During a training on use of the system by Azeus Convene the firm supporting KEMSA in deploying the platform, KEMSA board led by its Chair Irungu Nyakera (pictured), expressed eagerness to unlock the true potential of the e-Board Investment and using its power to digitise their processes.
“This platform will immediately be implemented in the upcoming board and committee meetings, to track all agendas on a real-time basis. We expect the secretariat to upload all information to enable us to make quick references for all meetings,” the chair stated.
Nyakera called for the consultant to provide continuous support to ensure that the structure remains intact so that it can assist all future boards.
The CEO committed to using the platforms in all future meetings, noting that it will be useful in assisting management to cascade and track their progress to board level with much ease.
