Kasait confident with 5,000m quartet picked for World Championships

Africa Games 5,000m champion Lilian Kasait has lauded the potential in the team named for the World Athletics Championships set for September 27 to October 6 in Doha, Qatar.
The 2017 World Cross Country bronze medallist, who will be making her maiden appearance at the World Championships says the kenyan team has depth ahead of the biennial games.
Fresh from winning gold in Rabat, Morroco two weeks ago, Kasait wonher speciality with ease on the final day of the national trials at the Nyayo National Stadium on Friday.
She clocked 15:43.55 beating former Africa 5,000m champion Margaret Chelimo to second place in 15:.46.65 with National champion Sheila Chelagat settling for third in 15:48.65 all making to the team.
“We have Hellen Obiri as the defending Champion in the team. That itself is big motivation. I have a lot of faith in the team we have.
Personally I will work on my final kick with the aim of finishing stronger,” said Kasait. The trio will join defending World 5,000m champion Obiri in the race.
