Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has come out strongly in defence of President William Ruto, stating that no amount of political scheming or public criticism can unseat him because his leadership is divinely ordained.

Speaking during a church service on Sunday, July 27, 2025, the senator sent a direct message to individuals entertaining the thought of destabilising the current administration, saying that anyone thinking they can rob President Ruto of peace or shake his authority is deluding themselves.

The senator said President Ruto’s journey to State House is living proof of divine intervention, having battled and overcome powerful forces long before his presidency.

“The Almighty God is in your leadership journey. Against all odds, Ruto is president today. And there is someone lying to themselves that they can deny President Ruto sleep. Ruto fought sitting presidents, more than one, and still rose to power,” Nyamu said.

Nyamu reminded critics that President Ruto’s ascent to power was not by chance but by a divine script that has played out over the years.

She referenced his early days as a young politician in Eldoret North, saying even then, he was swimming against political currents.

“If you want to know that God truly called our president, just look at his journey from the day he vied for MP in Eldoret North. Then, President Moi was so against him that he planted a candidate to stop him, but Ruto triumphed. That is how you know he is chosen,” she added.

Spiritual nature of Ruto’s leadership

The senator also drew attention to a recent statement made by the country’s former Second Lady, noting that even those once within the inner circles of power are now acknowledging the spiritual nature of Ruto’s presidency.

“The other day I heard the former Second Lady of this country say that President Ruto is called by God. I heard it myself on my phone. And she is a pastor. As she liberates the president, she still confirms that he is chosen by God. And that is where we stand,” Nyamu said.

She concluded by assuring the Head of State of their continued prayers and support, expressing confidence that no man can interrupt what has been divinely established.

“Your Excellency, we are praying for you,” she said. “No man can fight what God has already blessed.”
