Kagure to ensure constant drugs supply in public hospitals

By , March 3, 2022

Nairobi county governor aspirant Agnes Kagure yesterday promised to ensure public health facilities in the city are fully equipped with adequate and essential drugs should she ascend to the position.

Kagure said her core agenda is to bring to an end the perennial menace of drug shortage in city facilities.

The businesswoman said says it makes no sense for the government to construct several hospitals and health centres that remain idle without patients due to shortage of drugs.

“It is unfortunate that patients are being forced to buy drugs expensively from private facilities,” she said on Wednesday.

In order to address this, Kagure said she would allocate more funds to the health sector and enter into negotiations with the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority to clear outstanding debt to ensure constant supply of drugs.

Kagure was speaking in Westlands when she met grassroots and opinion leaders from Westlands.
