Naiyanoi drop from MP race
Naiyanoi Ng’eno appointment to the ICT authority comes after she pulled out of the by-election race meant to succeed her husband.
The wife of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng’eno, had ealier shown interest in running for the seat to replace her late husband.
While speaking to the media on Monday, March 23, 2026, the family spokesman, David Ng’etich, confirmed this, stating that after extensive consultations, they decided to hold back the 28-year-old lawyer from immersing herself in the murky political waters that lay ahead.

According to the spokesman, the family resolved that she should continue healing following the devastating loss of her husband, who died in a plane crash in the Mosop area alongside five others after the pilot attempted to fly through bad weather before crashing moments later.
“Ms Ng’eno will not be contesting, as she has been unwell and is still recovering from the loss of her husband. Following this development, we have, after extensive consultations as a family, decided to release her from the rigours of the campaign,” family spokesman David Ng’etich said.
