Kabando Wa Kabando commends Faith Odhiambo for resigning from compensation panel
Former MP Kabando Wa Kabando has praised LSK president Faith Odhiambo for resigning as Vice Chairperson of the Panel of Experts on Compensation of Victims of Demonstrations and Public Protests.
In a statement on his X page on Monday, October 6, 2025, Kabando lauded Faith for heeding the public concerns and throwing in the towel.
People’s voice
‘Shukrani Rais Faith Odhiambo for, finally, heeding the people’s voice to exit Ruto’s noxious impunity deodorant. The voice of the people is the voice of God. Ubarikiwe.

He added that her resignation was a crucial step in reclaiming her image, which he opined had been greatly dented following her taking up the role.
“We pray you’ll recover the huge public trust & admiration that you had gained by your gusto,” he added.
Before her resignation, Faith Odhiambo had clarified her role in Ruto’s protest victims panel.
Faith gives in
His remarks followed moments after Odhiambo came out to confirm her resignation from the panel via her social media pages.

The outspoken LSK president, who served as the vice chair to Makau Mutua in the professional body comprising civil society leaders, human rights advocates, and legal experts, explained that her resignation was prompted by a legal occurrence that made it unlikely for the panel to deliver its mandate within the set timeframe.
Resigned
“I have today handed in my formal and immediate resignation from the position of Vice Chairperson of the Panel of Experts on Compensation of Victims of Demonstrations and Public Protests to the Head of Public Service,” she stated.
“My resignation from the Panel takes cognizance of the crucial point at which Kenya finds itself in the quest for full constitutional implementation and lasting reform to our democratic context. This consequential moment for our country calls for all our rule of law institutions, especially the Law Society of Kenya, to remain unified and resolute in discharging the mandate bestowed upon us by law.”
The panel was established by a Gazette notice issued by the Head of Public Service on August 25, 2025.
It was tasked with reviewing the legal and institutional framework for compensating victims of police excesses during public protests.
