Mudavadi at Kultaranta Talks
Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, is in Finland on June 17, 2025, for the Kultaranta Talks, a high-level summit hosted by President Alexander Stubb.
Running from June 16 to 17, 2025, the event focuses on global security threats and changing foreign policies. Representing President William Ruto, Mudavadi’s presence shows Kenya’s growing role in international diplomacy, as the country seeks to strengthen ties with global partners and address issues like security and trade.
Starlets to play Uganda
The CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship is taking place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from June 13 to June 21, 2025, with Kenya’s Harambee Starlets competing.
The Starlets are set to face Uganda on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Their first game was against Burundi on June 14, where they won 3–0. They will also play against South Sudan on June 19, 2025, and Tanzania on June 21, 2025.
Held at the Azam Complex, the tournament features five teams: Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, South Sudan, and Kenya. A strong performance could boost the Starlets’ confidence ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

IRF Summit Africa 2025
The first International Religious Freedom Summit in Africa is expected to continue on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
The summit, which commenced on Monday, June 16, 2025, brings together judges, religious leaders, and activists from across Africa to discuss protecting religious freedom. They will explore how governments affect faith communities and ways to tackle issues like persecution and violence.
This event highlights Kenya’s role as a leader in promoting peace and fairness in Africa’s diverse religious landscape.
Protests threats
Various people on social media threatened to stage protests on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, to demand justice and accountability following the death of blogger Albert Ojwang.
However, those threatening to protest did not immediately explain if they had acquired authorisation from the National Police Service (NPS).
If they happen, they are likely to disrupt businesses and traffic in major cities, showing the public’s frustration with the police.

Pan-African Parliament Consultation
The Pan-African Parliament, together with the African Union and the International Labour Organization, is holding a three-day consultation in Nairobi starting June 16, 2025. The event focuses on drafting a Model Law on Labour Migration in Africa to promote fair labour practices across the continent.
