Jubilee party has dismissed claims that its Vice-Chair David Murathe has resigned.

In a statement issued by the party director of communication Albert Memusi, Jubilee has called on Kenyans to treat the resignation reports with contempt.

“It has come to our attention that there are reports circulating on social media alleging that the Jubilee Party Vice Chair, Hon. David Murathe has resigned. We would like to clarify that such reports are false,” Memusi said in the statement.

“Hon. Murathe remains our able Vice Chair and continues to carry out his duties in that capacity, working diligently to fulfil his mandate as provided for in the Party Constitution,” he added.

Memusi further called upon members of the public to seek clarification from a reliable party system of communication before sharing wrong information.

“Any official communication about changes in the Jubilee Party
leadership will be communicated through the official Party organs, as is the
norm, and as is articulated in the Jubilee Party Constitution,” he said.

Claims of Murathe’s resignation emerged on Wednesday subjecting the Jubilee vice chair to social media commentaries and trends.

In January 2019, Murathe announced that he had resigned from the Jubilee party citing his poor relationship with Deputy President William Ruto.

Months later, Murathe declared himself still the office holder saying President Uhuru Kenyatta had not approved of his resignation.

He has been serving in the same position to date.
