According to a statement shared by Shariff Nassir, the Indian doctors are in the country to pay tribute to the former Prime Minister, who had been their patient and died in their care after undergoing cardiac complications.

“This morning, I received Rosemary Odinga in Mombasa, daughter of our departed Party Leader, H.E. Raila Amolo Odinga, C.G.H., who was accompanied by doctors from Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Hospital in Kerala, India.” Nassir stated.

Global personalities mourn Raila

He went on to acknowledge the global outpouring of love for the late Raila Odinga, noting that since his death, the entire world has come out to mourn with the Republic.

“They are in Kenya to pay their final respects to a man whose life and legacy transcended borders. The global outpouring of love for Baba is a reflection of his extraordinary journey, one defined by courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to justice and humanity.” He added

The first global leader to mourn with Kenya was India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who helped the country to repatriate the remains of the late leader back to Kenya.

Rosemary’s popularity in India

This visit by the Indian doctors, led by Rosemary Odinga, aligns with activist Kasmuel McOure’s account, who recently stated during a podcast that she is a very big deal in India.

He said she is highly valued and often used as a testimony by Indian doctors and the country at large after her successful eye surgery that restored her eyesight following a period of near blindness.

Kasmuel went on to state that many people locally do not know how influential the daughter of the former Prime Minister is in India, saying that she has even been used as a testimony by the World Health Organization after regaining her eyesight.

“Rosemary Odinga is a big deal in India; they even used her reductive surgery as a testimony, and part of what they are proud of is something that many people locally don’t know, even the World Health Organisation (WHO) used her as an example,” Kasmuel stated.
