The Azimio One Kenya Coalition Party has presented the list for the Nairobi County Assembly leadership, naming Makongeni MCA Peter Imwatok as the Majority Leader.

The list presented to the Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Ken Ng’ondi named John Musili as the deputy majority leader.

Kilimani MCA Moses Ogeto will be the Majority Whip to be deputised by Upper Savannah MCA Elijah Stazo.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the majority coalition which is Azimio La Umoja- One Kenya coalition shall be led by Hon. Imwatok as the majority leader. I wish to encourage the Kenya Kwanza coalition which is the second largest coalition to designate and communicate its leadership in the house so that we can commence our legislative agenda as soon as possible,” said Ng’ondi.

Restore order

Nominated MCA Catherine Okoth was appointed to represent Azimio at the Nairobi County Assembly Service Board. Imwatok promised to restore order as he vowed to put the county government in check.  “I will be fair and articulate firmly party directives. To our brothers who were also in this race I want to tell you that all is not lost, we will work together to ensure that Azimio remains strong and the government is put in check,” Imwatok said.

The Azimio party has 67 members, while the Kenya Kwanza Alliance — the second largest coalition in the county assembly and the Minority Party– has 53 members.
