In addition to new registrations, the IEBC announced that 49,502 voters have been able to change their registration to new polling stations that will enable them to have more convenience in future elections. Furthermore, 1,066 citizens made amendments or changed their personal information in the voter register in the same period.

The Commission stressed that the exercise underway is aimed at making the exercise inclusive and accessible so that all eligible Kenyans can take part without undue limitations.

To ensure maximum turnout, the IEBC ensured that voter registration was being undertaken on a daily basis during the ECVR period, even on weekends and during public holidays. This initiative will be a move to suit citizens who can have different schedules and maximise the turnout.

The Commission has urged all unregistered citizens to take the initiative and get registered, as this is an important civic duty that can shape the nation’s leadership.
