I went mad, gave out my property – MCA recalls Covid-19 experience
A member of Trans Nzoia County Assembly has revealed that he went berserk after contracting Covid-19.
Hospital Ward MCA Erick Mwangale gave mourners at a funeral in Waitaluk Ward an account of his encounter with Covid-19 virus which he contracted in October 2020.
“I never went to hospital after contracting Covid-19. I believed in God thinking all shall be well since my nine year-old-child also had the disease. I was debating between taking my child to hospital or holding on to my believe in God that the disease will just end and that I would get better,” the legislator said.
Wafula also noted that his constituents could not believe their leader had contracted the disease which made him not seek treatment from a health facility.
“My supporters said a leader like me can’t contract the disease but by December I was mad.”
The MCA further narrated how he gave out his possessions forcing his family and colleagues to forcefully take him to a health facility in Nairobi.
“I totally lost control of my mental senses. I was doing weird things which shocked the whole neighborhood. My constituents were living in denial that a leader like me can contract the disease even after taking precautions,” Wafula said.
He further asked Trans Nzoia residents to be wary of Covid-19 disease stating that the disease is amidst the people.
“This thing is real and we should not play with it my friends. Please learn from my experience,” Wafula urged residents.
