Hussein Mohammed forms FKF transition committee to undertake 4 key roles
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has formed an ad hoc committee that is expected to undertake four key roles.
The new FKF chief says that the formation of such a committee is a step in the right direction for his administration.
“The FKF Transition Ad Hoc Committee has hit the ground running. One month into office, I’m proud to see the critical governance structures of FKF taking shape.
“This is a key step towards rebuilding trust in our football. I remain committed to ensuring transparency and accountability are the foundation of everything we do,” Mohammed said in a statement on X on Tuesday, December 7, 2025.
The formation of the ad hoc committee comes after the deliberations by the National Executive Council (NEC) in December 2024. The committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of establishing robust governance structures and ensuring a seamless transition for the federation, according to a statement by FKF.
The committee will be chaired by FKF Vice President McDonald Mariga, with Women Representative Kerubo Momanyi serving as the deputy chairperson. Upper Rift FKF Branch NEC Member Bernard Lagat will serve as secretary. Other members are Eastern NEC Member Charles Njoka Njagi, Central NEC Member Robert Macharia, North Eastern NEC Member Ahmedqadar Mohammed Dabar, and Lower Rift NEC Member Peter Kamau.
Mandate of the committee
Facilitate operational continuity: This is to ensure that the essential functions, systems, and processes of FKF are maintained during the transition to avoid any disruptions.
Preserve institutional integrity: This is to help uphold FKF’s transparency, credibility, and commitment to its mandate throughout the handover process.
Prepare the incoming leadership: Equip the newly elected National Executive Committee with the knowledge, tools, and understanding of the federation’s current status to effectively manage its affairs.
Build capacity: strengthen the administrative, technical, and strategic capabilities of FKF to ensure sustainable growth and long-term success.
Commission a forensic audit: conduct a comprehensive audit focusing on finance and human resources to enhance accountability and transparency.
“We are confident in the leadership and expertise of the Transition Ad Hoc Committee and trust that they will fulfill their mandate effectively,” Mohammed is quoted as saying by FKF’s website.
