Hunt for thugs who stole Sh1m from MP candidate

Police in Homa Bay county are hunting for four gangsters who robbed Rangwe parliamentary candidate Omburo Odaje of Sh1 million.

The armed robbers  raided Odaje’s home at Kanyang’ondo village in Rangwe Sub-county on Saturday at around 9pm. Odaje was away at the time of the robbery incident. Two of the robbers stormed into Odaje’s sitting room where  they found his supporters while their accomplices stayed outside to keep check. They ordered Odaje’s supporters to lie face down before heading  to the bedroom where they found his wife. They demanded for money and threatened to shoot her, terrified, the woman surrendered a bag believed to have contained Sh1 million. They also made away with her iPhone valued at Sh200,000.

Odaje reported the matter at Rangwe Police Station.

Area Criminal Investigations Officer Abed Kavoo said they are interrogating those who were at home at the time of the robbery to gather crucial leads that would help track the suspects.
