Huduma Centres face intermittent disruptions, services temporarily affected
By Mustafa Juma, April 21, 2026Huduma Kenya has announced intermittent disruptions affecting services at several Huduma Centres across the country, including the Huduma Centre GPO and the Huduma Contact and Tele-Counselling Centre.
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the agency said the technical interruptions have temporarily affected service delivery, inconveniencing members of the public who rely on the centres for essential government services.
Nationwide service interruptions
According to the notice, multiple Huduma Centres have experienced intermittent system disruptions, affecting normal operations and slowing down customer service processes.
Services affected include citizen registration and document processing, in-person assistance at Huduma Centres, and contact and tele-counselling services.
“Huduma Kenya wishes to inform our esteemed customers that services at our Huduma Contact and Tele- Counselling Centre, Huduma Centre GPO and several other Huduma Centres are experiencing intermittent service disruption,” the notice reads in part.
Huduma Kenya apologises
Huduma Kenya also issued an apology to members of the public, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the temporary service breakdown.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused,” it stated.
The agency did not immediately specify the exact cause of the disruption but confirmed that technical teams were working to stabilise the systems.
Despite the interruptions, Huduma Kenya reiterated its commitment to delivering efficient and reliable public services across all its centres.
The agency emphasised that restoration efforts are ongoing and urged members of the public to remain patient as technical teams resolve the issue.
“We are working diligently to restore services as quickly as possible to ensure you continue receiving efficient and reliable service. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Huduma Kenya remains committed to serving you better,” Huduma Kenya stated.

Huduma Centres play a key role in providing access to essential government services, including identification registration, licensing support, and other administrative functions.
The temporary disruption has therefore affected a wide range of citizens seeking services at various locations. Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku had urged public servants to improve service delivery at Huduma Centres, saying the programme has grown into a key interface between citizens and government.
