A 29-year-old teacher in Ndhiwa sub-county in Homa Bay County is currently cooling his heels in police custody after police arrested him for defilement.

Ndhiwa sub-county police commander Paul Rioba says the teacher defiled the 16-year-old girl on different dates this year. He was busted after the victim’s father discovered that she was pregnant.

Angered by his actions, the father of the victim reported the matter to the police who arrested the suspect.

It is reported that the accused hunted his targets across schools. He would buy them cakes in exchange for sex.

Authorities say he will be arraigned in court to answer for other sexual assault cases reported against him.

The latest comes barely days after a 50-year-old man in Siaya was arrested for allegedly defiling his 15-year-old niece.

Micah Onyango’s arrest followed a tip-off from members of the public who decried that the suspect was having a sexual relationship with the minor.

Police launched a probe and discovered that the minor had indeed been defiled as she was expectant.

Authority in the region pledged to launch a crackdown on other suspects preying on minors and vowed to punish them in accordance with the law.

Similarly, the police implored victims to open up and report any incident.

The victim was booked at the children’s protection unit within Siaya police station for her safety.
