Heri Homes, Women In Business partner to help the needy in Kajiado

By , July 1, 2020

With most families unable to provide food and other basic commodities due to the effects brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, players in the corporate sector are joining hands to offer support to the needy members of the society.

Real Estate Heri Homes recently partnered with Women In Business (WIB) to offer the much-needed support to residents of Olkeri location in lower Matasia, Kajiado County, with food and face masks donations.

Speaking during the donations drive, Heri Homes CEO Kimotho Kimani said the firm is giving back to the community since affordable housing is not only developing houses, but also making sure families live together in harmony through the global crisis.

“As you all know, majority of the families, and especially the needy and those that are physically challenged, are the hardest hit since they do not even have the financial muscle due to their economic status, adding to the limited resources due to the cessation and curfew in different areas,” said Kimotho.

He added that the partnership WIB would see them tour different areas also empowering women who have ventured in business and those whose businesses have either collapsed or are at the verge of collapsing because of the pandemic.

Reiterating the need for other corporates to support Kenyans, Kimotho further said the pandemic had brought a new realisation that a house is one of the important assets because those with their homes have not been affected so much financially.

He said: “The demand for affordable housing will continue to rise, although in the short term people might not have disposable income to buy, but as soon as the economy opens up that will be their main focus.”

He was accompanied by the area Member of County Assembly Peter Gitau Njuguna and WIB representatives Shiku Kinuthia and Mary Gitau, among others.
