‘Hakuna penye Ruto anaenda’ – MP Oscar Sudi tells off president’s critics
By Kiplagat Sang, January 10, 2025
Kapseret Member of Parliament (MP) Oscar Sudi has called off President William Ruto’s critics, who have been calling for the resignation of the Head of State.
‘Ruto must go’ has been a persistent clarion call, especially on social media, and in answering them, Sudi has stressed that President Ruto is going nowhere.
“Si mnajua wale wakora wa mtandao wa kule Nairobi? Wanapiga kelele sijui eti Ruto must go sijui nini nini.
“Si mlisikia niliwaambia jana waruke juu, waende chini, waende kando hakuna penye Ruto anaenda. Ama niaje?
“Si unajua wale wanajifanya wanafikirianga hao tu ndio lazima waongoze hii nchi. Hapana. Hata Mluhya anaweza ongoza; hata Mturkana anaweza ongoza; Mkenya yoyote ako na uwezo wa kuongoza anaweza kuongoza.
“Si hata mimi mtanipatia rais siku ingine?” Sudi said, Friday, January 10, 2024, while addressing members of the public in the company of the president, who is on a development tour in Uasin Gishu County.
Ruto’s call
As Sudi answered the president’s critics, Ruto himself has called for an end to campaigns geared towards the 2027 general elections. While defending his government work done so far since he assumed the presidency, the president said he will be judged by what he would have achieved then.
“Unafikiria unaweza kuja uzia hawa watu fitina? Eti ooh, ilienda ikarudi; wananchi wamechanuka nani… wanajua what they want,” Ruto said.
A possible coalition between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has been predicted in the run-up to the next election, but the president’s speech is set to deflate such talk for now.
