Group calls out untrained herbalist

By , January 16, 2024

National Traditional Health Practitioners Association ( NATHEPA) has official challenged untrained herbalists to train to enhance their work. Group’s national chairman, Dr Paul Okibo said only trained, registered and certified herbalists will be allowed to practice.

The Association, noted the official, has partnered with The University of Nairobi ( UON) to train Herbalists on conducting research on African Traditional Medicine ( ATM) to boost their skills.

“We are not going to allow quacks to operate. The Association wants to bring sanity in herbal medicine” Okibo told the People Daily yesterday.

He said the University has offered the Association land at Kabete and Kibwezi to plant herbs for research and training in it’s Faculty of Medicine.
