Gor shift focus to KCB as Chemelil match is cancelled

By , September 18, 2019

Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia will have a whole week to prepare for Sunday’s clash with KCB after Thursday’s tie against Chemelil Sugar was cancelled on Wednesday.

Gor were set to face Chemelil at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu Thursday but the home team changed the venue to Kericho on Tuesday, to K’Ogalo’s dislike.

Gor launched a complaint to league organisers KPL, saying the change would inconvenience them as they had already made plans to fly the team to Kisumu and planned for related logistics as well.

According to KPL regulations, any change in venue or kick-off time should be communicated 72 hours before kick and Chemelil only requested for the change to be effected on Tuesday.

With a new date for the match to be communicated later, Gor, who arrived on Monday from Algeria where they lost 4-1 to USM Alger in the CAF Champions League first round, will now shift focus to Sunday’s clash against the bankers.
