Gor Mahia swift move

However, negotiations faltered due to Tusker FC’s high demands. With Odhiambo’s contract now lapsed, Gor Mahia moved swiftly to secure his signature.

The Kenyan champions welcomed Odhiambo via their Twitter account, sharing a collage of images capturing his contract signing and warm reception by teammates.

Odhiambo’s football journey saw him move from Mathare United to Tusker in March 2023 on a one-year deal.

Prior to his stint with Tusker, he demonstrated his prowess at Mathare United after joining from Wazito FC.

Known for his prowess on the left side of defense, Odhiambo’s arrival marks Gor Mahia’s fourth signing of the year, following the acquisitions of Mark Shaban, Shariff Musa, and Enock Wanyama in January.

At Gor Mahia, Odhiambo will vie for a starting position with the established defender and team captain, Geoffrey Onyango, who has earned recognition as one of the league’s top defenders.

His arrival coincides with the resumption of action in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League after a month-long hiatus, necessitated by the FIFA international window in March.

During this break, the national team, Harambee Stars, and its junior counterpart, Rising Stars, participated in the Four-Nations tournament in Malawi.

Gor Mahia vs Homeboyz

As league action resumes, attention will be on key fixtures, including Gor Mahia’s clash against Kakamega Homeboyz, as they seek to extend their lead at the top of the table.
