Ghost workers earn millions – Omogeni

By , November 22, 2022

Nyamira Senator Okongo Omogeni has claimed hundreds of ghost workers are paid millions of shillings by the county government every month.

Speaking at a funeral at Kianyabanyao in West Mugirango constituency at the weekend, Omogeni asked the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate the matter.

“I am asking the EACC to move with speed and address this illegal scheme which has the blessing of those in leadership of the county,” he told the mourners.

Omogeni also accused the MCAs of failing to play their oversight role.

“The County Assembly should rise up and oversight this government if public resources have to be protected and development realised,” he added.
