In a statement shared on her Facebook page on Saturday, September 27, 2025, she expressed shock at the incident.
She noted that the appalling assault of a woman in Mbene, Ngarite area of Narok Central Sub-County, as captured in the disturbing footage, was a shocking act of brutality that has no place in the country. She emphasised that it was a grave violation of human rights and an affront to the dignity of every Kenyan.

She stated that gender-based violence is intolerable and will be prosecuted with the full force of the law.
“The appalling assault of a woman in Mbene, Ngarite area of Narok Central Sub-County, as captured in disturbing footage, is a shocking act of brutality that has no place in our country. It is a grave violation of human rights and an affront to the dignity of every Kenyan,” Wendot said.
She commended the swift action taken by the National Police Service in rescuing the survivor and acknowledged the progress that had already led to an arrest.
The ministry, she added, remains steadfast in its resolve to end gender-based violence in all its forms. It will continue to strengthen prevention, protection, and accountability measures to ensure that every person, regardless of gender or age, is safeguarded from violence. The incident
This incident has been doing the rounds on social media; the lady was beaten down by people believed to be her brothers for defying her family on the choice of husband, according to police reports.
