Nyandarua: Gachagua visits flash flood victims, offers relief support

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday, May 6 visited flash flood victims in Kipipiri Constituency, Nyandarua County.

During the visit, the DP distributed foodstuffs and other essential materials.

“In times of emergency, it is critical for leaders to support the people, especially those directly and negatively affected.

“This morning, I visited tens of families at Wanjohi, Kipipiri Constituency, Nyandarua County, to offer relief support and asses the impact of the recent heavy rains,” he said.

Gachagua further stated that heavy rains in the area destroyed property and displaced hundreds of people.

“The rains resulted in flash floods and hailstorms, which displaced many and destroyed property.

“This will help us prepare better for possible future eventualities,” he added.

The DP was accompanied by Nyandarua Governor Kiarie Badilisha, Senator John Methu, Kipipiri MP Wanjiku Muhia, among other leaders.
