Gachagua launches tarmacking of 2 roads in Narok
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday, May 2, commissioned the tarmacking of two roads in Narok County.
Gachagua said the two roads will open up the area and improve access to markets for the farmers.
“Improving road network across the country is a crucial undertaking for the Kenya Kwanza Administration as we seek to support our economy, especially in the rural areas.
“The upgrading of Bokoiyot- Marinwak- Kipkurkuret Sogoo-Tengecha 18km Road and 6km Tumoyot Menet Road in Narok South, Narok County, will open up the area and improve access to markets for the farmers in this food basket region,” he said.
Gachagua on post-harvest losses
The DP also said the roads will reduce post-harvest losses and increase earnings for farmers.
“With farmers producing, potatoes, wheat, milk, vegetables, maize, among other crops annually, better roads will reduce post-harvest losses and increase earnings for farmers.
“This will increase revenue for the devolved unit.
“In my responsibility for intergovernmental relations, I appreciate that counties are working with the National Government in ensuring smooth movement of people and goods,” he added.
