Former Nairobi Mayor Charles Rubia passes on

Grief has once again befallen the country after losing the first African mayor for Nairobi, Charles Rubia.

Speaking to PD Online, Rubia’s lawyer Irungu Kangata confirmed the sad news.

According to a family source, Rubia rested peacefully while in sleep on the night of December 22.

Rubia was a veteran politician, once detained during the struggle for multi-party democracy in Kenya.

Rubia was a veteran politician, having been a Member of Parliament for Starehe. In Murang’a where he hails from, he is among the prominent people of the county.
