The Anti-Corruption Court has fined a former National Coordinator of Bunge la Mwananchi Rodgers Mwololo Sh250,000 or in default serve two years in prison over bribery.

Mwololo was convicted by Milimani Chief Magistrate Felix Kombo yesterday after being found guilty of two charges of demanding a bribe of Sh250,000 so as not to expose to the media allegations of sexual harassment of patients at St Mary’s Clinic situated in Umoja Estate, within Nairobi county by staff members.

While sentencing Mwololo, the magistrate said that the punishment should serve as a deterrent to others contemplating committing the same offence.

The magistrate ordered the accused to pay a cumulative fine of Sh250,000 or  in default two years in jail for the two offences of receiving a bribe from the complainant, Lucas Munata Sameta, the owner of the Umoja clinic.
