The exercise to fully reconstitute SRC comes months after the National Assembly approved the appointment of Sammy Chepkwony to head the commission for a period of six years, after taking over from his predecessor Lyn Mengich.

“I want to urge the SRC commissioners to look at things holistically. Let them not be duped that if you deal with politicians is when Kenyans take you seriously,” Junet said on January 16, 2025, after the approval of Chepkwony at the National Assembly.
